New Delhi, 15th May, 2023: Former Union Cabinet Minister and senior BJP leader Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today said here that “optimism” becoming “delusion” is “pernicious to political health”.

While replying to reporters in New Delhi today when asked about the Karnataka results and “anti-Modi alliance activity”, Shri Naqvi, who was in-charge of BJP election management during 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections, said that the Congress and some other Opposition parties were under same delusion in 2018 also after the better performance of “grand old party” in the Assembly elections in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka etc.

Shri Naqvi said that at that time also, some “political proprietors” were doing “countdown of Modi Magic”, but the “Arithmetic of Modi Ji’s success” spoiled their “Mathematics”. After 282 seats in 2014, the public gave bumper mandate to Modi Ji by giving 303 seats to the BJP in 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

Shri Naqvi said that Modi Ji took the BJP from 116 to 282 seats in 2014 and brought down the ruling Congress from 282 to 44 seats. This was a result of his determination to “Lok Kalyan through Kartavya Path”.

Shri Naqvi said that Modi Ji gave success to the BJP in elections after elections in several states, he has taken India’s pride at newer heights at the global level and he has ensured inclusive empowerment through his Mantra of “development with trust”. The Modi era has replaced the “politics of polarisation” with “people’s participation in prosperity”.

Shri Naqvi said that Modi Ji’s success is the result of his commitment to “reform, perform and transform”.
